So a strip mall on my way to work was torn down not too long ago. What looked like a huge construction project started going up shortly after. I was excited that maybe there would be something cool going in. The building they ripped down is circled in yellow. And what is that new building in brown? well I chose brown because it was the first color that came to mind when thinking of Taco Bell. Yep. They torn down about 6 businesses to build a friggin Taco Bell.

it really sucks. its a huge parking lot now. there was an AuBonPain in there. I dont understand y they needed to take out the whole strip for this.

I have the opposite problem around me. They won't stop building strip malls which usually end up having six empty stores, one karate class, and three Korean churches for the next five years before they sit empty indefinitely.

Of course, they'd fill up fast if people would stop blaming rapid transit for crime and just connect us to Atlanta's MARTA like they've been trying to do for years....

I'm not sure why it has such a bad reputation. Yes, there are creepy people (I once caught an old man staring at my then 7-year-old sister for his entire ride, then walking past her window three times after he got off) but I have never encountered one instance of unprovoked violence or theft. Even when I was the suburban white teenager in an empty car with a guy who probably didn't have the proper permits for what was tucked in his pants, at 11:00PM. The people who think MARTA is a crime hotspot have obviously never used it.

this is 15 minuted form my parents house. It is a former Airforce base. I saw the Blue angles here when I was younger but now its slowly becoming a new residential development. I think they do defensive / weather driving courses here. I have never heard of an Autocross but it would be a great place.
